Vesper´s Villa
Old Bendinat – Calvia – Balearic Islands.
Emerging from the idea of developing a singular villa where Ian Fleming’s hero could live, Vesper’s Villa is located in Bendinat, one of the most exclusive residential areas near Palma. The project for this house of over 660 m² was born from the restructuring of a home built in 1984.
After adapting the structure to the new interior program and the need to have a swimming pool on the main terrace of the second floor, the aesthetic and strong character of this contemporary villa is manifested in the contrast between its hermetic exterior aspect and its oasis of light and nature inside.
Few windows are visible from the street due to the impact of the swimming pool on the entire house layout.
This particular programmatic need is one of the starting points of the architectural concept, thus maintaining the mystery of what happens inside.
The perception of Vesper’s Villa from the exterior is compact and massive, with a strong character materialized in a composition of textured concrete panels, natural stones, steel, and glass. The choice of materials for the façade makes this villa more radical and unique.
The interior spaces are organized around a central patio that provides light and nature to the house, while articulating the spaces in a fluid and rational manner.
The most relevant interior element, Vesper’s central patio, is the heart of the villa’s interior design, physically and visually connecting all the floors and living areas of the house.
